Krakow Stag Weekends

Krakow has proved a huge hit since it began to entertain Stag Weekends around 2 years ago. Regarded by most as the most beautiful city in Poland and the venue for PolVenture clients who prefer their action-packed weekend to take place in historically stunning surroundings.

Krakow is rightly compared to Prague in terms of historical beauty and the nightlife but there are important differences. Both cities are full of tourists, but Krakow has not gone down Prague's route of "in-your face" red light districts and on-street drug dealers. That is not to say Krakow is not a party capital; on the contrary its market square boasts the largest concentration of bars and clubs in Europe. But the "darker" side of the night-life is kept in the "dark", and that means local people are happy to welcome foreign guests and party with them in any one of the city's many night spots. Krakow is also Poland’s student capital and the 100,000 students do their bit to fire up the night-life.

Krakow was Poland's capital city for centuries. A major European trading centre, the city developed into a rich European metropolis by medieval standards and its former glory is now for all to see. The Old Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city boasts a wealth of unique buildings and artefacts, including Wawel Castle; the historical centre of the country, and the Jagiellonian University, whose former students include Copernicus and Poland's Pope, John Paul II. Krakow was named as one of the nine European Cities of Culture in 2000.

Of all Poland's major cities, Krakow is the city which is certainly most concentrated on preserving and promoting its historical importance and therefore although the city is slowly growing a modern face, you are unlikely to see it on your weekend. Prepare to marvel at its beauty, get lost in its maze of cobbled streets and drink in the hundreds of cafes, bars and pubs all concentrated around the Main Square.

On a Krakow Stag Weekend expect:

  1. A beautiful city
  2. A cosmopolitan atmosphere
  3. Thousands of young people partying on any night of the week
  4. Clubs and bars housed in atmospheric underground cellars
