Greg Mackay-Lear's Weekend in Krakow, July 2008

"Good morning Daria & Dagmara,

I trust you're all well and you've had a great weekend? Which as we know, if you live in Krakow you'd have to be clinically dead or bed-ridden from the nose down not to enjoy yourself!!

Now that I've regained the use of my hands and the shaking has stopped, I thought I'd send you a quick little note to say how much me and the guys enjoyed our weekend and to thank you for the time and effort you put on our behalf. It was truly amazing.

I think it would be safe to say that the whole weekend exceeded our expectations in every way from the accommodation to the activities. It was some of the most appropriate, full on, trousers down fun I've had in a long, long time. It's true I've been suffering from a less than perfect recall of exactly what happened. However, I do remember drinking enough Polish rocket fuel to knock the backside off a concrete elephant, nearly killing a close friend and being disqualified in the karting (a major blemish on my record as an advanced police driver and one I'll never live down) and singing a song about goblins whilst face down in my own vomit in the bathroom of the hotel. Days of glory, I tell you!!!

Not even the random behaviour of our airline, who seemed to be not only keen for us not to go but not to come back either, could put the brakes on an absolutely top class weekend and we all felt that the extra time "behind enemy lines" was worth every Zloty!

Lastly, my biggest thanks has to go to the lovely Kasia, who with beauty, brains and a seemingly endless capacity for wicked-strength shots really made me think that getting engaged to an English girl might be the single biggest mistake I ever made in my life!! She was wonderful and we all got on so well (well enough that she introduced us to her friends, which lets face it, was a gamble with our combined reputations for drunken naughtiness!!). Not only did she provide the service of a consummate professional, she also put in overtime at the bar and made sure we were taken care of by a responsible adult when we were, shall we say....a little over-refreshed, tired and emotional. What ever you're paying her, double it as she's worth that and more. That being said, she did set me up a treat to go head to head with one of her friends in a vodka drinking contest, which I retired hurt from finishing in a very distant second place. I think I left some part of me on the floor of that bar....I might need to go back and pick it up.

However, by the end we were all desperately unhappy at having to leave Kasia, Krakow and her friends behind and behaved like sulky kids on their first day at school with our bottom lips dragging on the ground, crying like the girls we all are. Believe me, I did contemplate putting in an anomalous bomb threat for our flight so we couldn't go home but luckily good sense and the thought of being subjected to a full body search by the customs officers prevailed!!

With any luck, we'll be back in Krakow soon (how many stag's can I get in before I get married in September??!! I might go for the record) and no doubt we'll catch up with Kasia and her cheeky mates if there still around.

Well, I think I've bored you long enough for a Monday morning. Please forward this to your entire team, as they all deserve my gratitude for giving me such an unforgettable experience.

Needless to say that I'll be recommending you to everyone I know. If nothing else but to get myself invited on another LNOF stag trip!!

Dziekuje bardzo!!"

Matthew Garvey's Stag Weekend in Krakow, May 2008

"Hi Dagmara,
I meant to e-mail you last week and let you know what a great time we had in Krakow and to thank you and the PolVenture team for your help in organising a fantastic weekend.
We were met at the airport in two separate groups by Aga and Ada (excuse my spelling!) who welcomed us to Krakow and quickly shuttled us out of the airport and got us on our way into town. The coaches were of a very high standard and the journey was only about 20mins into the City centre. When we got there Ada gave us all a shot of Vodka which was a nice touch and went down very well!
The hotel was great and in a fantastic location, just 5-10 minutes walk from the Rynek Glowny. Krakow is a fantastic city and very picturesque and historic which is always nice. Ada took my group and me to the Rynek Glowny where we met up with the other half of the party with no problem at all. The Juwenalia festival was on the day we got there which created a great atmosphere, with live bands and almost everybody in fancy dress.
Ada and Aga met up with us again at 21:00 after an afternoon's drinking in the bars in the old town. They did a fantastic job of guiding around 26 very drunk Englishmen around various bars and clubs etc in Krakow - which was no easy task! They really did do a great job and must have the patience of saints! We ended up in Midgard, which went down so well with the guys that we went back there the following evening.
The check out and transfers back to the airport went very smoothly, with Ada on hand to shepherd us to the airport. All in all we had a fantastic weekend, which was in no small part due to the PolVenture team, and in particular Ada and Aga. Please pass on the thanks and appreciation of our whole party to them for a job well done. They are a credit to your company. I'll certainly recommend PolVenture to friends in the future."
